Coningsby 5 miles
RAF Coningsby is home to the Battle of Britain memorial flight with its Lancaster Spitfire and Hurricane and of course now it is the home of the Euro fighter the village itself has a number of pubs a very good hardware shop a pharmacy and their ,probably unique one handed church clock further along this road (watch the speed camera as you leave the village)
Tattershall
With its brick castle ,only the Keep remains but this is national trust property open to the public and has been well maintained,also in Tattershall just past the castle is a leisure centre with water sports etc where a large car boot and market is held every Sunday.

Woodhall Spa
With its unique Kinema in the woods this is a cinema with back projection which has just celebrated its 80th Birthday ,as well as showing films on two screens they also have a Wurlitzer organ which is played from time to time,woodhall is also where you will find the Dam Busters Memorial and the Petwood hotel ,frequented by the Dam Busters squadron ,on leaving woodhall to return to Mareham instead of turning to Tattershall you could continue on past the old Woodhall aerodrome to Tattershall Thorpe where on the right you will see.
Thorpe Camp military museum open at weekends this is on part of the woodhall aerodrome support buildings
It is run by volunteers and is always changing ,even if you are not interested in the military it is worth a visit for the history of the area and the people who lived and worked at Woodhall Air Field
